Centro Historico Monda
This is a very short walk that Monda Town hall put together in a guide book many moons ago. It will probably only take twenty minutes to do the circuit. There are lots of little side streets to get lost in if you so desire, and admire the architecture. There is also the Marigloria Museum which shows Monda from the olden days where time stood still.
The walk starts off at the Iglesia de Santiago Apostol, (The Church of the Apostle James) and takes you on a tour of the core centre of Monda, which is full of numerous interesting details especially those that are engraved on the walls of the houses, or above doors, windows or even on ceramic plaques all around the village.
There are several old drinking fountains on the walk and some of them used to be ancient washing places where the local women used to hand wash their clothes. These handmade and hand carved stone watering places can be seen to be deteriorating today due to the constant stream of watering jars that used to be placed on the surface and filled before being carried back home for domestic use.
Two of the best bars in Monda are Los Carboneros and La Luna, both worth a visit if you are in Monda.
