Itinerary description
Warning: I got sidetracked quite a few times! Don't follow my tracks exactly. Rating as very difficult for the steep parts both up and down, during the descent some challenging crossings as well as it being a pretty long route with quite a bit of elevation gain and loss.
09.00 leaving from Cercedilla. Crossing the village to get up into the woods. Following the blue track until taking a hard turn to the right to follow up the yellow route. At Raso de Pedro Morales, cross the meadow by turn left, almost as if you are turning back. Continue until you see a crossing with a very big boulder, go right following the path uphill.
10.30 Reaching the Miradores de las Poetas: mirador the Luis Rosales and mirador de Vicente Aleixandre. For a few minutes taking in the amazing views. Continue by following the big road to the right, passing by el Reloj de Cela. Until la Pradrera de Navarraluque, there are two paths on the right hand, we take the one mid-right that goes uphill into the trees. Follow the path up, passing fuente and peak Malajasna. Cross the meadow and follow the route through the heath. Turn right and follow the unmarked path further up towards the Ventana del Diablo.
12.00 Reached the 2nd of the Siete Picos, climbing up to enjoy the views. It's windy and starts raining to moving on again. Following the path straight along the other picos. There are many tracks here, so I got sidetracked a couple of times. It's a bit challenging finding your way here. As it's raining, I continue walking and don't climb any of the other picos anymore.
13.00 I have crossed the picos and start going down to Collado de la Ventolera. Again I get sidetracked various times by the many different tracks going down. I continue straight along the PR-M/SG8. Get sidetracked one more time finding my way down to Puerto de Navacerrada.
14.00 Arrival in Puerto de Navacerrada, enjoying lunch in Venta Arias.
15.00 Leaving again, backtracking the same route up until Collado de la Ventolera, there I take a left to keep following the yellow marked trail. I have to slow down as the trail gets steep and tricky.
16.30 Reaching Fuente de los Acebos, getting sidetracked again, eventually finding my way back to the yellow marked route. Continue down to Pradera de Navarraluque and from there the same route back down.
18.00 Arrive back in Cercedilla just before dark and very tired!
