Cerralba – Los Malagueños – Casillas de Diaz
This is a circular walk that starts at the free car park at the entrance to Cerralba. Half of the route is on the Gibralgalia road MA 3400 (which wasn’t too busy), until you turn off to go through the small hamlet of Los Malagueños. This is where the walk starts going uphill eventually picking up a dirt track.
Just before reaching the highest point you pass the old abandoned hamlet of Casillas de Diaz. One of the old ruins is being rebuilt and you will meet with a German shepherd dog looking down at you from the balcony. At an old well the route turns left and you start the descent.
Arriving back onto the MA 3400 and turning left, keep going until you turn right to go into the campo, which will eventually bring you back to Cerralba. You get to pass one local bar – Al Son de Maria (haven’t try it yet so I can’t give you a verdict).
There are a lot of good views on this walk, with a good half a dozen villages in the distance. We got caught in one small stretch of mud (200m) ai it rained the day before.
