Itinerary description
From the big parking of Cantarrigan you can follow the arroyo de Cantarrijan or the road to the track that will lead you up the Cerro Caleta.
When the track makes a sharp turn to the north you will start a difficult part. The track becomes less visible as well as the markings. It will become steep and you might regularly have to use your hands to steady yourself or to help you getting higher.
When you get to the highest point (200m.) the track becomes visible and will lead you across the ridge giving you spectacular views all around.
The descent towards the Judas Tadeo shrine is less steep and once you reach the dirt road the walking becomes easy.
The descent to Playa El Canuelo has beautiful views. At the end of this beach a track, marked with a green arrow will take you up to some ruins with, again, beautiful views and from the ruins the track goes up, initially across eroded rock, to the Torre Caleta.
The last part of the track, right under the imposing rockface of Cerro Caleta, has really wonderful views and this part of the track is easy and will lead you to the point where you went north at the beginning of the walk. The track down to the parking at Playa Cantarrijan does not present any difficulties either.
