Itinerary description

A climb through a coffee plantation to the top of Cerro Espiritu Santo (Holy Spirit Hill). Numerous paths criss cross the plantation so a method of navigating is essential. Thanks to Van141 and Manry for their Wiki entries, couldn't have made it without their trails (see their entries for 1 way alternatives).

The path is mostly one lane wide made of dirt and sand and was easy to walk on. Some of the steeper climb (at 3 km for maybe 200 meters) was loose and slow going and would be rough in wet conditions. Lots of nice vistas along the trail and you are rewarded at the top with an amphitheater and monument base (possibly for a cross or statute of Christ?) .

The descent was through some forest and then circled back to the tree with many roads radiating out from its base (marked as waypoint with photo). From there we re-traced our path back to the start.

Parking was available up the road about 300 meters and the start (not obvious) is included as a waypoint (with photo). An enjoyable hike!

Start

Not easy to find, we passed by a couple of times. Stay on the right side of the house and the trail begins out back.

Lots of paths radiate out from this tree. Good spot for a break.

Hello my friend! Nice trail! I love it! Just one question... Is this inside a private property or you can follow the path for free without a problem? Thanks.

The coffee plantation is private (community owned?) but they welcomed hikers to the area and we did not have any problems. The peak is public and is open to everyone. Enjoy your hike!
