Itinerary description

From Valle de Arriba follow Calle San Fernando Rey and drive to Santuario Virgen and park. Follow the track PR-TF 43.3 towards Chinyero. The walk crosses over the black lava flow from Chinyero which flows towards but never reaching Santiago del Teide.
Follow PR-TF 43.3 through a pine forest until a junction is reached. Here you take a left to join
PR TF43 (Circular Chinyero) and cross further lava flows.
Eventually a junction is reached where you turn left onto the PR-TF 43.1 which goes into pine woods and eventually reaches the Canal de Vergara. Turn left here onto Pista Canal de Vergara.
Follow track with wonderful views soon reaching the pine trees. The canal has metal opening hatches where one can get refreshed in the lovely cold, clear water.
Eventually a junction is reached where a right turn takes one through fig / almond walled plots back to where the tuning off to PR-TF 43.3 towards Chinyero is reached. This completes the loop and a short walk then returns to Santuario Virgen.
A lovely walk with great views, lovely pine forests, crossing these amazing lava flows and fresh water available at the canal.
