Chio Circular Walk, Tenerife.

A steep climb and descent from the village of Chio in the west of the island. the ground underfoot is also rough at times. There are great views to the west coast at the beginning and end of the walk but a large proportion of the route is in pine forest, the floor of which is mostly covered in lava. There are two possible 'opt out' options on the walk if you decide to cut the walk short. A track between waypoints 1 & 3 is the first and the TF38 can also be followed right to cut off the upper section of the walk. The onward route is quite difficult to see at waypoint 1 but you basically just cross directly over the 'opt out' track and then follow an initially vague path, which loops above the track before continuing uphill. There is also a point just before arriving at the TF38 where the onward path is difficult to see and I incorrectly turned right for a brief spell. The onward route again is straight ahead.
