Itinerary description

The bay of Porto Infreschi is a natural harbour located in the homonymous protected area and can be reached by sea, using the boat service operating from Marina di Camerota, or by land, following this trail starting from Lentiscelle beach, near the town.
The bay of Infreschi is named after the freshness of the overlooking rock cavities, used in the past by fisherman to store the tuna.

The start of the trail is located near the cave where is exhibited the historical boat named Leone di Caprera.
During the first part, it climbs up the hill of Monte Luna, then it descends through a valley surmounted by the Serra of Infreschi.
The trail leads through the "macchia", rural gardens, and olive groves and it provides also access to the nice beaches of Pozzallo and Cala Bianca.
In the final part, it climbs up again on top of cape of Iscolelli point, that is the southernmost point of the coast of Cilento. From here you can admire the entire gulf of Sapri, the coast of the Masseta, Maratea and a considerable stretch of the coastline of Calabria.
The track ends in a very little beach in the bay of Infreschi. In the vicinity, there are also a little country-side church and the remains of the ancient "tonnara".

The soil is mainly composed of limestone, except some clays near Cala Bianca.
Along the track, there are several signals and signs, depicted as white and red bands on the rocks, that allow you to easily follow it.
The coastline is high and rocky, has numerous coves and caves, as well as, the remains of several towers.

Expected Walking Time (one way) = 2 hours
