Itinerary description
Circ of Colomers passing many of the lakes.
Very beautiful walk with perfect views .Possibly one of the most rewarding for the amount of kms and effort to put in.
well recomended.
I started the hike from the car park at Banhs de tredos..there is a large track that leads to the start of the hike.
in summer period you can not take your car all the way to the start..so they charge for a taxi !! think 5euros..
The path is about 4km each way..i took the main track and the signposted track back through the woods on return..for me the main track that the taxi uses is better view of the valley and easy to walk..
So if you take taxi ..the trail is about 13km..
once at the taxi drop off point, signs for the refuge colomers and the barrage
small climb then on a flat valley with boards ..another small climb and you reach the barrage ..the refuge is the other side of the lake.
Cross the barrage and follow the trail to refuge..then take right track, small steep climb leads you to the start of the trail passing all the lakes..there is a sign for Tuc de Podo..follow this one..trail is well used for most of the time..when not follow the cairns ..
Once out on the large flat area ..you climb large boulders ..but easy up to Lac Gelat..this is the high point..the decent after is quite steep and a hand hold needed a few times..as before just follow the worn track..the Spanish way marks along the way are a large red flash of paint on some rocks..hit and miss and a bit faint in places..descend down past more lakes until reaching the junction of the GR11 trail..marked with red and white flash .
follow the the signs back to the barrage and then to the taxi drop point..Taxi or the 4 km hike back to the main car park.
Great day
