Itinerary description
This classic walk connects four villages in the Boí valley: Barruera, Durro, Boí and Erill la Vall.
They are characterized by their very old churches with their typical high towers.
The walk is for the greatest part well indicated by wooden signposts.
The first part of the walk leads you uphill (from 1100 to 1400 metres) along a beautiful and shaded footpath up to the village of Durro from which you have a beautiful view of that part of the valley.
From Durro you take another footpath up into the valley to the highest point of the walk, 1486 metres, from which you have a beautiful view to the other part of the valley on the villages of Boí and Erill la Vall.
The descent to Boí, 1260 metres, is gradual and gives you good views all the way.
Boí is the gateway to the Parc Nacional D'Aigüestortes. From the village centre you can take buses that take you to a good starting point for walks in this Natinal Park.
From Boí you descend via a small footpath to the river and crossing it over a wooden bridge you go up again to Erill la Flinn, a tiny village with a medieval church.
We had some trouble finding the correct footpath to the river after walking around here so we took the L500 for a couple of hundred metres until we could pick up the footpath that leads you to the river and then to Barruera.
