Itinerary description
We started this walk in the tiny hamlet of Sarroqueta, situated a few kilometres to the north of El Pont de Suert. A small road of 3,5 kilometres takes you up tot his hamlet where you can park your car right in front of it.
The beginning of the walk follows tracks that sometimes are not easy to see or follow, and after half an hour or so you will see the ruins of the chuch of Santa Maria de Sarroqueta.
From there we followed an indistinct track tot he main track that leads you to a junction of 4 tracks, one of which descends to Vilaller (waypoint).
We took the track leading to Coll (signposted) and from here on the walk takes on another dimension. The track is small and beautiful, and leads you around a ravine and sometimes crosses small streams and you will have beautiful views into the valley of Llesp.
As Col was too far for us to go to and then go back via Llesp, we took a gamble and tried to follow small paths downhill from 1360 to 1040 metres. Sometimes the going was tough and sometimes we had to retrace our steps and try again but eventually we managed to reach a wide track that leads from Llesp to Sarroqueta. This track yields beautiful views, also to the the Panta D’Escales near El Pont de Suert and the valley beyond and leads you up to 1200 metres again before you descend to Sarroqueta (1100 metres).
