Circuit La Quinta - Boca del Paso

The loop in the quiet hinterland is very popular because of the easy paths and the panorama on the Cumbre with the Teide and the coast.

From the church in La Quinta we follow the hiking route PR TF 71.1 (white-yellow) towards Boca del Paso. At the junction 50 m further on, we turn right, the road now gives way to a large path that we leave by going straight into the next left turn via the camino. It is bordered by agaves and leads us to the next ridge on which the path we follow crosses two irrigation canals next to a fica. The view above on the Cumbre with the Teide is simply magnificent.

The signposted path immediately ignores the large path on the left and soon enters the sparsely bushy pine forest to cross a small barranco. Once on the next large ridge, we reach a hiking trail that leads to Boca del Paso, with a beautiful view of the south coast.

You follow the path that climbs to the left (PR TF 71.2, white-yellow) and after 20 minutes crosses a small canal dug into the rocky bottom soil. A few minutes later we come to a crossroads where we turn left towards the hiking trail PR TF 71.2 (white-yellow) which leads to La Quinta. We are then accompanied by a canal and the path is briefly covered with rocks and scree, which makes progress difficult.

Arrived at the first house, our path crosses a small road and returns to the parking lot by making a bend by the Barranco de la Quinta.

La boucle dans l'arrière-pays tranquille est très populaire à cause des chemins aisés et du panorama tant sur la Cumbre avec le Teide que sur le littoral.

Depuis l'église à La Quinta nous suivons l'itinéraire de randonnée PR TF 71.1 (blanc-jaune) direction Boca del Paso. À la bifurcation 50 m plus loin, on prend à droite, la route fait maintenant place à un chemin carrossable que l'on quitte en allant tout droit dans le virage à gauche suivant par le camino. Il est bordé d'agaves et nous mène à la crête suivante sur laquelle le chemin que nous suivos croise deux canaux d'irrigation à côté d'une fica. La vue en contre-haut sur la Cumbre avec le Teide est tout simplement magnifique.

Le chemin balisé ignore aussitôt le chemin carrossable sur la gauche et entre bientôtdans la pinède peu touffue pour traverser un petit barranco. Une fois sur la grande crête suivante, nous rejoignons un chemin de randonnée qui mène à Boca del Paso, avec une belle vue sur la côte sud.

Nous suivons le chemin qui monte à gauche (PR TF 71.2, blanc-jaune) et croise après 20 minutes un petit canal creusé dans le sol fond rocheux. Quelques minutes plus tard nous arrivons à un croisement où nous nous dirigeons à gauche vers le chemin de randonnée PR TF 71.2 (blanc-jaune) qui mène à La Quinta. Nous sommes ensuite acvompagnés par un canal et le chemin est brièvement couvert de rochers et d'éboulis, ce qui rend la progression malaisée.

Arrivé à la première maison, notre chemin croise une petite route et retourne au parking en faisant un coude par le Barranco de la Quinta. (circuit et description inspirés de l'itinéraire numéro 36 - Ténérife - Rother - Guide de randonnées)
