This trail is heavily used as it is one of a few trails in the area with waterfalls. Sounds funny saying waterfalls in conjunction with Mississippi and Louisiana. Of course they are rainfall dependent and not very tall, but what the hey, they are still waterfalls!

Main trail leading back for the parking lot is wide covered for the most part with limestone rock, with some wooden stairs thrown in for good measure. Several side trails to waterfalls and creek. Main trail peters out for the most part prior to getting to creek, and is heavily washed out and deeply rutted. Final stairs are angled and can be hazardous if wet. Creek walk is pretty cool, but haven't had the chance to walk the perimeter trail. If the perimeter trail is anything like the trail that parallels the creek, it is slow going because trail maintenance appears to be non-existent. The perimeter trail is marked with rectangular, yellow reflective tree markers.

Nominal fee of $4.00 per vehicle with up to 6 persons in vehicle, and additional fee for over 6 persons. Nice restroom facilities at trail head parking lot. Parking lot is small, but plenty of road shoulder parking available. Fees are collected on the honor system, so please be honest. No trail maps today at trail head kiosk, but there are aluminum trail maps scattered along the trail system. Kind of hard to get lost in a creek with a bunch of people around.

The reason I rated the trail difficult was the steep ups and downs, washouts, ruts, sketchy footing in areas.
