Likya Yolu - Lycian Way
Coban beach (near Kas) to Aperlae
There are quite a few good Wikiloc tracks on this route. This was our first day, and I wanted to stay at The Purple House in Aperlae because of comments I found on Aperlae and the description on this remote and isolated coastal spot. I didn´t want to hike too far the first day so we hired a boat to take us from Kas to Coban beach, which cut out a few kilometres. This trail is so amazing, that if you are in shape or have been hiking for a few days already, it is probably worth hiking the part what we missed, although we did enjoy the boat ride. I used the Windy Maps navigation app, which is now Mapy.cz. That app was excellent, and I downloaded the relevant map and the whole trail was there and marked exactly. If I started to get lost or wasn´t sure I referred to that. I also got excellent general information from https://cultureroutesinturkey.com . It was freezing the night we stayed at The Purple House, and there is no heating. Aperlae is a really unique place, and if you like remote places it is worth spending time to look around. We were the only people on the trail during the whole 3 days. It would be wonderful in spring or autumn, but probably quite busy. It would be very hot in summer.
