Coin - Villafranco del Guadalhorce PR - A 239
I was pleasantly surprised how nice this walk is.
The walk starts on Calle Cantarranas. the first 1.7Km is on a narrow road. traffic is light but I would suggest wearing a high visibility jerkin.
At the first intersection you turn right. The road widens. It is a well compacted rural track of gravel and sand. I only came across 2 cars and 2 cyclists the whole journey.
The route is well signposted except the last kilometre into Villafranco.
I went under the tunnel and winged it.
The route mainly follows an old irrigation system, having several large water aquaducts and large water pipes.
There are splendid views of the Guadalhorce valley. It was very cloudy and hazy on the walk so the photos didn't do the walk justice.
From Villafranco I did another stretch to Alhaurin el Grande mainly on roads.
I was dropped off at Cion and picked up in Alhaurin.
In total I did 20.33Km
Direction from Alhaurin el Grande.
Take the A404 towards Coin.
You will pass an Aldi and drive in Burger King. At the main roundabout turn right and at the next roundabout with a water feature turn left and park up. This is the start of the walk.
