Itinerary description
Starting point of this short but lovely walk is the Col de Montllobar which can be reached by taking the C-1311 from either Tremp or Puente de Montanana.
The col itself provides a beautiful view of Tremp and its surrounding planes and its reservoir as well as the mountain tops to the north. There is good parking space as well as picnic tables and benches to sit on and enjoy the view.
The walk to the Castel de Montllobar is only one kilometre on a path that brings you one hundred metres higher and it is only a little bit further to the Mirador de Montllobar. Obviously, the views from these places are outstanding.
From the mirador we followed the track we were on, turning to the right a little bit later, following it until it petered out next to a deserted house from which you have a nice view to the south.
From where the track turns to the right you could also follow a track indicated by stone piles to the summit of Montllobar, 1100 metres, which we did not do because of the threatening thunder.
All in all, a lovely short walk for an in between day or if you simply want to have a quiet day and enjoy the utter peacefulness and quietude that one will experience up there.
