Itinerary description
Very nice round walk with about 650m height difference so it's not an easy walk. Try not a walk it on hot summerdays because the heat will kill you on the climb from the river down near Canillas to the old church and further up to where the cellular arial tower is and than up the mountain. After the mountain it goes down till Cómpeta. There are several bars, restaurants on the route in the villages. I did some resting stops as well so that explains why this route took 4+ hours to complete. Walked a 100m wrong way, you'll see it on the gps track, just skip that part and follow the small water channel as i did after going back this wrong 100m. PS some river crossings so nice when its good weather. Bring a towel to dry your feet / sometimes you have to take of your shoes. It all depends on the water level, where you cross and available stepping stones.

Old mill
From the new walking path you have a good view on the old mill. In front of the mill, under the tree is a perfect place for a short rest. Cross the river and go up on the left side of the mill to continue your way

Roman walking path
After first going down the roman walking path you walk up after crossing the bridge over the river. From this path going to Canillas de Albaida you have a good view into the fast nature reserve near Fabrica de la Luz de Albaida

In front of the old church Canillas de Albaida are some benches. Take your water bottles out after this climg from river to church

That was a very good climb from the celphone tower to this high view point. On your right the sea, coast. Behind you Canillas de Albaida village. On your left the vast nature reserve in the direction of Fabrica de la Luz de Albaida

Plaza del Carmen
Just a few minutes walking into Competa and you're on Plaza del Carmen. Have a drink or a good local dish here or walk to the central Plaza Almijara for more restaurants

Go down Calle Carreteria and you on the main plaza again. Here you find restaurants, bars, tourists and locals

We have done this trail today. The weather was nice and not too hot. 18-19deg. But be aware of the water level in the river. It was not possible to cross it without walking in water.

última parte desde la bodega hasta competa creo que no es un camino en si, más bien parece la bajante de un rio, asi que cuidado en épocas de lluvia.
