Itinerary description
- Mirador del Valle de Lecrín (1.6 km)
On arriving in Cónchar by car take the first signposted (camino los pinos) road to the right and drive on to the parking spaces near the information panel of the walk.
The official short version of this walk is 4 km.The original walk is 11km. We did 8km, doing an extra loop after the first part because we wanted to continue to enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
The first part of the ascent to the Mirador del Valle Lecrin is along a beautiful but narrow track, sometimes going up steeply and there are passages that you will need your hands to steady yourself on the rockface or even climb the rocks on the track, with most of the time a steep ravine to the left of you. The track has been imrpoved at places but it might be slippery and dangerous under bad weather conditions.
The views during this first stretch of 1.6km into the valley of the Rio Durcal are magnificent, however.
From the Mirador del Valle de Lecrin onwards the track remains beautiful and loses its possible dangers, from now on giving you ample views of the Sierras de Tejeda, Amijara y Alhama (Pic Lopera) and other villages nearby like Restabal and Melegis, situated in the Valle de Lecrin.
From the signpost that indicates the short version of this trail we turned south east for an extra loop.
This is a very nice walk which will give you lots of panoramic views all around, even deep into the Sierra Nevada. and the cities Durcal and Padul.
