Itinerary description
The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. "The Five Lands" is composed of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park.
We decided to walk from Corniglia to Vernazza. This was not an easy walk as the ground was very uneven with many rises and falls in the trail together with 30+ degree heat. A swim or cocktail by the Mediterranean is well deserved after this walk.
Vernazza is truly the most beautiful town along the Cinque Terra with its picturesque boat harbour and many lagoon's with an abundance of winebars, restaurants/cafe's.
