Itinerary description
Nice circular route with start/finish from/to Cortijo Las Monjas (Farmhouse from XVI Century). This rural house acommodation (http://www.cortijolasmonjas.com) is located next to the ancient "Realenga" or "Camino Real (Royal Path)", being part of a long distance footpath GR7 / E-4 from Tarifa to Cevennes and coincide with the long footpath called Gran Senda (http://www.gransendademalaga.es).
We will ascend through a place called "Plao" or Prado direction to Granada, where in the old times people rested from the long trips walking or riding a horse and it was used until these days as a stop for shepherds with their animals.
Wonderfull views from here due to we have started closely to 600 m. high from sea level where we can see from here diferent villages like Comares, Periana, Canillas de Aceituno, Vinuela Lake, and in a clear day the mediterranean sea in the distance. Flora everywhere and the old Verdial Olive Trees. If we are lucky, we will see Ibexs, falcons, eagles, ......Cortijo Pulgarín and Cortijo de La Cueva are in our route, as well as Mondron, a little hamlet of white washed houses where the people live quite, from here we return back through "Camino de Las Estacas" until Cortijo Las Monjas.
