Itinerary description
This route shows us the most attractive and delicate of the incredible nature that surrounds the Sierra de Guadarrama: its vulnerable flora, fauna and geology glacier granitic unmistakable.
It presents a difficult stretch on the ridge of the los Claveles and is a demanding route to the altitude of 2429 m Pico de Peñalara.
The route is planned out from the Parking taking the side of the Club Alpino building and ascending to the summit of Peñalara so the path of Batallón Alpino that targets Peña Citores was called. Traversed the trenches and once conquered the summit, forward along the ridge of Los Claveles. Continuing the cord to reach the lagoon of the Birds and begin the return in the traditional way, back to Cotos. There are two options to return after reaching the Laguna de Peñalara: ascending down the right, behind the hills to reach the path of the Zetas and right to the source and El Cedrón.
We can not miss a lesson in how to interpret a sundial adapted to the different seasons in the viewpoint of La Gitana.
At the end of the road we expect the visitors information center to gather information and once done the homework, the bar restaurant is opposite the car park we left.
