Itinerary description
Al Ḩammām - to Al Amarat
The trail follows the road that was used to build an overhead power line. While technically it's a road (google maps shows you can drive through it), in many places it's impassable due to rain damage.
We visited the area in early February. As the region received plenty of rain a few weeks before, the area was blooming with flowers and green - an unusual sight for Muscat.
It took us 4 1/2 hours to walk about 13 km with 660 meters vertical gain. It was one way only. You will need another car at the end of the trail to wait for you.

The trail started from Hammam, behind the water tank station. Throughout the Trail you will see top of Saal Steps, the cement factory and Hamamm village. The root took around 5-6 hours. We cross along mountain in Muscat till we reached to Amirat mountains where we could see the Amirat mountain road on the other side. Then we moved across Wadi till we reached Amirat 9.
