Itinerary description
Starting from Cruz del Carmen follow trial TF 10 through the forest and the open road, descending until you reach the small village of Chinamada (5,8 km). Once there you must go round the red chapel and reach the Mirador de Aguaide, wich is on the cliff on the northern side of the island, 550 m above the sea (which we were not able to see, given the beautiful clouds covering the view!). Get back the Chinamada and continue on the road towards Las Carbonera. Soon you will find the stairs that go up on the mountain again (8,5 km) and then down to lead you to Las Carbonera, from which you will take the trail TF 10.1 back to Cruz del Carmen. The trail is not difficult, but it has long parts wide in the open where you will be under direct sunhine and there is no natural water to drink, so be sure to bring your own. Also, the last part from Las Carbonera back to Cruz del Carmen is a 3,6 km uphill with 300 m of difference in altitude, which can be stressing being right at the end of the hike.
