Itinerary description
We begin our hike from the Curug Ciputri campsite. Direction to this location can be accessed using Google maps accurately and comfortably by motorcycles and MPVs. It takes about 2 hours ride by car via toll road from Jakarta. There are registration, entry and parking fees payable as you enter the premises.
We decided to do day hike to see the curugs (waterfalls) instead of camping. It is recommended to use the services of local guides for navigational purposes. You could get this by asking the shop owner at the parking site.
This trail leads to 2 out of 4 curugs in the area.
Waypoints
Curug Kiara
The first of a handful of curug (waterfall) we are about to pass on this trail. To arrive here the trail is not as steep as others, and the area is well maintained. Even simple steps made from earth and bamboos are available.
Possible camping site A
Flatland littered with pine trees atop a hill overlooking the mountain and valley. Good camping site with a view. Unsure if there is any charges for camping, better to ask at the gate before starting the hike.
Curug Ciampea
The crown jewel of the area. Also known as green lagoon. The waterfall is one with a lot of water debit. It is, however, advisable to avoid getting to near the waterfall when it rains as water debit will increase drastically. Mind you the place would be crowded with both domestic and international tourists alike. The entrance fee is IDR 20k per pax payable at the registration gate right before the waterfall. The trail towards this place is filled with earth and bamboo steps. You may also find sheds along the way if you need shelter. There are also a number of warung (food stalls) selling ready to eat food and beverages very near the site.
Intersection between curugs
This is the intersection to the directions towards curug Kiara, curug Ciputri, and curug Ciputri campsite. To go to curug Ciampea the direction to take is towards curug Kiara down from the intersection.
Possible campsite B
Alternative to the main area of curug Ciputri campsite. The area is littered with pine trees however the land is not very flat. Quieter than the main area. Unsure about the fees required to camp. Better to ask at the beginning of trek at curug Ciputri campsite.

Easy
The walk was a muddy and wet at Kiara Waterfall, probably because of heavy rain the day before.
But we did it with kids, happy to walk in the mud !
The Ciampea Waterfall is very nice.
Some views on the rice fields too.
