Itinerary description

This hike follows the Cowichan Valley Trail, alongside the E and N Railway tracks, from Chemainus to Stocking Creek Park where you will take a short side trail to Stocking Falls. The trail is wide and well groomed, it is a popular bike trail so keep an eye out for traffic.

The first segment is through a suburban area becoming progressively rural as you head north until you enter farm country. Along the way there are peekaboo views of the ocean (better in the fall/winter when the trees have dropped their leaves) emerging into wide valleys with great views

Stocking Falls is very pretty but is at its best in the spring when there is more water in the Creek.

The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an AVA rating of 1A.
