Itinerary description
This is the main marked trail around Emmons Pond, a Nature Conservancy preserve in Davenport, NY. The glacial kettle pond and surrounding bog features an active beaver colony and a small waterfall in the outlet stream. This 1.5 mile hike follows the main loop trail to the waterfall, then returns through meadows on the west side of the pond back to the road.
Note there are additional trails in planning at this preserve, as of fall 2020: one that follows the wetlands shoreline and one that follows old logging roads to a viewpoint and hilltop.
