Itinerary description
We decided to break this wall into 2 days in order to stay at the Refugi d'Amites. The walk naturally can be done over 1 day.

To avoid walking from Espot we arrived at 8am at the Prat de Pierro carpark. You are wise to get there early as it fills up with early risers and those who have left their cars there overnight.
From the carpark follow the GR11 to the Estany de Sant Maurici, this walk includes boardwalks, meadows and beautiful views of the mountains ahead.
Follow the lake path toward the Cascada de Ratera (a stunning waterfall) and onto the Estany se Ratera.
Follow the GR11 to the Estany de Port de Ratera (we took a slight detour to look out over the Mirador de L'Estany). The climb up the GR11 is a step climb to a stunning traverse that leads you to the Refugi. This route is a little longer than you need to do; but it is worth it for the views.
We then spent the night at the Refugi d'Amites (you have to book on advance). Its a relaxing place.
