Itinerary description
Considered one of the more difficult passes to get from the contour path at the bottom to the top of the escarpment. Mist and later rain on the day made this a really difficult climb. Thank goodness for the comfort of Rolland's cave at the end of day two.
There is a section of the Camels pass which should not be attempted in bad weather, especially if it is iced. There is a short detour up and around the "bad bit"
The entrance to Roland's cave can be a real challenge for those afraid of heights. Roland's cave is at 3099m ASL
