Itinerary description

The day plan was to climb to Punts Alta..well almost as knee problems stopped the climb few hundred mts short..oh well next time. Leaving the lower car park at the dam cavaliers
Follow the right hand side of the lake until you come across the yellow markers for the climb to Refuge Joan Ventosa. the trail climbs more following water falls and small ponds..you then reach a flat plain where you meet the mountain cows ..over the wooden bridges me keep to the well worn track ..you meet the wall of rock

Thinking no pass,but as you reach an easy route is found ,over some large smooth rockface ,then Estany negre is in view..after another few hundred mts .you arrive at the refugeJoan..well located,I did not stop only for water ..small to my decent to Estany Colieto and onwards to Estany gran colieto.artiving at lovely flat valley. Looking towards the big climb up to punta alta.climb is steep and zig zag up past Estany de la Roca..climb steepens and some hand work is needed.. next time I will overcome !!
