Itinerary description
Here is a very difficult trail, since for the most part there is none. But it travels to a destination that is not often seen. The bottom of Deer Gulch has several spots that have springs with surface water. This makes for a garden of eden with diverse plant life, from Pines to every sort of riparian vegetation to dry south facing slopes. I stopped for lunch at a spring and watched a mountain lion go by 50 feet away. There was also lots of bear turd on the way.
