Desfiladero La Hoz // La Hoz gorge

<<< English follows >>> La ruta se inicia en el parking que hay junto al restaurante. Ahí se puede dejar el coche. En ese mismo lugar está la ermita de la Virgen de la Hoz, que da nombre al desfiladero. El lugar está dentro del Parque Natural del Alto Tajo. Caminando, tras pasar la última edificación grande, se ven unas escaleras de piedra donde se inicia la subida a los miradores. La subida tiene unos 400 escalones y un desnivel de unos 80 metros. Desde los miradores se ven las paredes rojas del desfiladero. El color es debido a los sedimentos del río que hace miles de años pasaba por aquí. Tras dejar los miradores la mayor parte del suelo es de tierra suelta. Caminamos hasta un campamento juvenil y luego retrocedemos para volver al camino original. La pista no se ve claramente porque no hay muchas rodadas de coche ni pisadas. Hay que buscar entre los arbustos hasta dar con el camino, en unos quince metros alrededor. Se atraviesa un bosque de pinos productores de resina. Todavía se ven los cortes en los troncos, con unas chapas de metal en forma de V. Debajo, junto a la raíz, están los recipientes que recogían la resina. En resumen, es un paseo sin complicaciones salvo la subida de los 400 escalones. <<< ENGLISH >>> The route starts in the parking lot next to the restaurant. There, you can leave the car. In the same place, is the Hermitage of the Virgen de la Hoz (Virgin of the Sickle; sickle recalls the shape of the gorge), which gives its name to the Gorge. The place is within the Natural Park of Alto Tajo (High Targus). Walking along the road, after the last large building, there is one stone stair where the ascent to the viewpoints starts. The stair has around 400 steps and a height of 80 metres. The red walls of the gorge are observed from the viewpoints. The color is due to the sediment of the river that thousands of years ago went here. After leaving the viewpoints most of the floor is loose soil. We walked up to a youth camp and then go back to the original path. The track is not clear because there are not many wheels marks or crushed vegetation. You have to look for the track, in about fifteen meters around, among the bushes. You go through a forest of pine resin-producing trees. They are still cuts in the trunks, made with V-shaped sheets of metal. Below, next to the root, there are vessels to collect the resin. In short, is a walk without complications except the 400 steps.
