Itinerary description

This is a natural trail worth going through.

It starts with a shocking scene of an industrial heritage of a former Coal Mine (Miniera e Qymyrgurit "Mborje-Drenove"), which used to be operational from the First Global War till 1993.
It is only 20 % off-road car trail and the rest of it offers gorgeous views of the "Bredhi i Drenoves" National Park within forests.

The highest place of the trail is the "Guri i Capit" Natural Monument.

It ends with a 14th Century Church with beautiful frescos, "Kisha e Ristozit".

Waypoints

Starting point, 470 m from the Coal Mine ruins.

The view shows towards East. That is the direction of the Former Coal-Mine. This is basically 470 m further from the industrial ruins. This is the starting point.

Private entrepreneurship

This is a private goat breeding station. One leaves this on the right side of the road and continues further of the corner towards the forest and the Natural Monument "Guri i Capit", always following the path and the signs.

Forest vew towards Bozdoveci

Association of the Common Hazel (Coryllus avellana), Pines, Salix and Fir (Abies boriisi-regis) on the slopes near Bozdoveci area.

Nice meadow next to water.

Ascending towards the chapel and the Info Centre.

This is a nice marked rocky and forestry trail slightly ascending.

The view of the former Fir forest taken over by the European Beech, Common Huzlenut and Salix;

That is the slope that was burned by a fire few years ago. It is fantastic to observe the forest succession phenomena.

Intersection of the trail

On the right path one might go via this shortcut to the Bear's spring. Following the left road, both, the Bear's spring and Guri i Capit are reached.

This wire is a tool to help the monitoring specialist study the DNA of the hair of the brown bears. As the brown bears prefer to get self-itching on the tree's trunk it might happen that this will be a lucky tree for the team trying to capture some hair from these mammals in order to analyzing the DNA.
