Itinerary description

The name Namrood (Arabic) means difficult and a rebel. Mount Namrood embodies those meanings to the letter. A rock mountain where you are racing from one sinkhole to another hopping over boulders (some are unstable). The beauty of this mountain are the rock formations who were shaped by sun and snow over millions of years.
The trail was an exploratory one where we also had to deal with fried up thorns that became a thorn in our sides. The weather was great with temp in lower 20s and cloudy sky and breeze helping us stay cool.
As for the scenery, I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

N.B. This is an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT hike and could be DANGEROUS.

Bottomless Gore

We stumbled on this cave/gore by chance. Throwing a stone in it, we could hear it crashing on the sides before it finally faded away a good time later.

This cave was visited by others before us (markings on how to get in/out). And to our surprise we found snow. This is the farthest summer time where we stumbled on snow in Lebanon.

Inferno

What is heaven without hell? a few hundred meters away from the virgin Mary rock, we encountered another rock formation dubbed as the inferno by our Guide Chris. The rocks are formidable and the soil is black.
