Itinerary description
07 04 2019
This walk starts from El Torreon in La Cala. Head towards Calle Limonar with Mercadona
on your right. keep walking until you get to Arroyo Las Palmas, which is on your right.
This walk is in-between two golf courses, El Chaparral Golf and Cerros del Aguila golf.
The Abrevadero is an old watering hole / Trough for animals. There are a lot of paths in this area, some made up by motor cross bikes. The land is a bit more sparse as the area was hit by a forest fire in 2014 if my memory serves me well. It is a good area to go exploring as long as you don't loose your bearings. I did take a wrong turn at about Km 2,
so just ignore that bit.
A nice place to eat after the walk is the Jogar del Jubilado - From the Torreon looking out to sea it is about 150m on your left.

A really nice walk in the hills above La Cala de Mijas. The instructions were good. The “uphill climb” and “go down and up” are short and steep - worth having a pole. We saw a shepherd (horseback) and (main route down) narcissi. Thanks for sharing this walk - we enjoyed it.
