Itinerary description
Pass through the village of El Acebuchal and park nearby. Keep left up the GR 249. Follow the dry riverbed all the way up to the track, veer right and then left. Pass Los Cebollas and keep right. Follow the Puerta Verde trail up to Puerto Blanquillo. Great views of El Sisne. Turn left and follow the road down to Paez Blanca. Cross over the GR 249. Great views of Puerto Collado and Gavilán. Follow this road along till it changes into a path veering to the left. Head off around the bottom of Cerro Verde, pass over the puerto and continue along for 3 to 4 km and down a steep track. At the bottom of the track, turn left onto the road and enter the village of El Acebuchal.

Did this in early February in wonderful weather. Loved it all in an unspoilt part of the area. The directions are perfect. We went anti clockwise but would recommend clockwise to avoid the steep shale path back into El Acebuchal.
