Itinerary description
This loop starts in El Acebuchal, goes up the river bed, then across a gravel road before switching onto a narrow mountain path that first rises and then decends back down into the village.
It’s not a particularly challenging hike but there are some steep drops to the side of the narrow path on the last section. Also, the final decent is a relatively steep slope down on a lose gravelly path so you have to take care not to slip. Easy for those used to hiking, but it might be challenging for more mature walkers (for example).
There are some magnificent views at various points, a few interesting ruins and (as it had rained relatively recently before our hike) many beautiful wild flowers.
