Itinerary description
Stunning hike along the Roques ridge, then way down to La Laja (cute village), then all the way back up to Mirador Bailadero on some rough, rocky trail. Great views all the way but the stretch between La Laja and Bailadero is not for the faint of heart. Steep, with lots of scrambling and slippery in parts.
I definitely do NOT recommend doing it in the opposite direction. Much easier going up that part than down. And don't try it in the rain. Besides all that, thought, this was probably the most scenic hike that we did on Gomera. Check out Routinely Nomadic for a complete guide to hiking on La Gomera.
We started in Bailadero to do a little bit of the uphill at the beginning instead of all at the end, but there is more parking at La Zarcita if the three spots are taken at Bailadero. All in all, well worth if you're up for the challenge.

Great trail! Thank you!! I would also NOT recommend to do the trail in opposite direction. Part from El Bailaderro to La Laja is steep and is almost non existent, but has amazing views and great for cloud watching!

I've followed this trail to and I would echo not to do it in the opposite direction or in the rain due to the rocky parts. Amazing views, highly recommended!!
I did this circular route from La Laja. I prefer going up hill first! I read some scare stories on other reviews and on the Rother guide book. Rother said it was suitable for experienced mountain walkers. I did it with my wife march 2023. I'm 64 and she is 61. We're both reasonably fit but I'm a bit over weight and she's like a little bird. I'm not completely at ease in vertiginous situations so I was a little bit apprehensive prior to setting out. I think it's moderately strenuous for a couple of old folk principally on the way down from Los Roques to la Laja. There are a couple of mild vertigo inducing situations on the way up from La Laja but not too much. You have to be careful on the route up from La Laja to look out for cairns as the path isn't clearly marked. We only had to retrace our steps once about 30m. All in all it should be easily achievable by fit people of any age
Adding to the previous comment . It's great. Very enjoyable. Very peaceful and a great combination of alpine like trek up from La Laja , subtropical forest ridge walk to Los Roques and a pine forest walk back down to la Laja
