Itinerary description

My map doesn't have this name. Obviously, there is no little signs in the countryside that say "now you are in the barranco :). But if it's the beautiful sandstone patterns you are after, they are there.

mini-canyons

they are smaller branches of the barranco, and you need to squeeze to go in, but they have the nicest patterns there. If you squeeze into one, the patterns start soon, if they don't, turn back and try another branch

Where the official signposted walk goes to the north

The "official" walks go off to the north at this point. There is a stand with pictures of local birds and pointers to Playa de Esquinzo, El Cotillo and back to Lajares. You can reach here on 4x4 (we saw cars parked here)

take care to get the right (that is, the correct) branch. we haven't found the sandstone patterns in the other one

turned around at this point

had to turn around (didn't want to miss the bus). There is surely a lot more good stuff there, maybe one day will carry on
