El Burgo – Puerto de la Mujer – La Fuensanta
This walk starts from a small parking on the right just past the bridge into El Burgo.
This walk merges 2 famous walks in the area. The first one is Puerto de la Mujer and the second one La Fuensanta.
La Fuensanta has a very old water mill adjacent to la Fuensanta stream.
This area has picnic tables and BBQ areas. Nearby there is a small football pitch and basketball area. Also a riding school the Albergue la Rejertilla.
The routes are well signposted for most parts. There are lovely panoramic views of the Parque Sierra de las Nieves and El Burgo.
From La Fuensanta you take a small path uphill to Puerto de los Lobos to pick up the original starting trail which is part of the Gran Senda GR243 El Burgo to Yunquera.
I would imagine that La Fuensanta recreational area would be quite busy at the weekends and on festive holidays.
You will also find several small Senderos off at tangents that would be well worth exploring.
The best way to get to El Burgo is if coming from Coin on the A366,
past Tolox , then head for Alozania, passing Jorox then Yunquera which will take you straight into El Burgo.

Many thanks to the uploader. Well documented, easy to follow. The first half is really beautiful. The return is a little boring ar times as you mainly follow a road going through the forrest for about 6 km. Technically the trail is very easy. Just take it easy on the first ascent.
