El Camorro – Mirador de Las Aguilas
This is a circular walk starting outside Fuente La Teja horse stables / riding school, and at the foot of El Camorro Mountain.
Because of the forest fire that engulfed the area in 2011, the area is now very barren.
The first quarter section of the route is a bit lumpy and rocky, the next 2 quarter sections are in really good condition and flat. The last quarter is on tarmac.
Head towards El Camorro which has a gradual incline and then veers left, then at the first intersection turn right.
Eventually you will arrive to the Mirador de las Aguilas – A bird spotting hide.
Just past the hide on the right is a big white building – The drug dependency centre.
From here pick up the tarmac road heading down. (old Ojen road).
The last stretch I picked up a firebreak on the right. The beginning is a bit steep and you have to pass some beehives on your right. This shouldn’t be a problem as the path is well to the left of the beehives.
If you want you can avoid the firebreak by keep going to the first road junction, then turning right which will lead you back to where you started from.
