Itinerary description
From the Dehesa de Hondonero, up the track to the Mirador and then up the scramble to the cave on Chamizo's north face. After a short traverse to the west, a scramble route can be found onto the west ridge of the mountain. After this, a further scramble will bring you to Chamizo's summit.
Descent from the summit on its north side, initially on very difficult ground, and then heading generally north east towards a wide loose gully which leads steeply down, back to the Mirador.
Sustained and sometimes awkward scrambling on all sections except the track and the descent gully (British Grade 1). Extreme care needed with route finding, particularly on leaving the summit (NB. this track includes one or two sections which had to be reversed for a short distance in order to find a viable route).
