El Chorro – Eras de Trillar
This is a linear walk. It used to be the old version of the Sendero Haza del Río, but they have moved the goal post and extended the route. (I will map Haza del Río within the next few months with the new ending).
From the parking area around the El Chorro train station the start of the route is 400m away. Getting to the old threshing field is a gradual uphill all the way. There are pines trees along the way with about 60% shade. You also pass two closed mine entrances and the quarry that was used to build the Condes dam.
It is a peaceful and scenic walk with good views as you pass the Pedrera and the Árabe steps. Above you will usually see griffon vultures flying in circles.
