We did this route today. Besides the path being overgrown as mentioned, we got stuck at the farm, because behind the gate at the green building were at least 5 huge dangerous looking dogs! Luckily a man working on the field was kind enough to come up with us and let us through. Maybe there is another way around the farm???
that is exactly the way through the farm . there is always a man there who will show you the way. we are looking for a better way to avoid the overgrown bit . we did it this monthj and did find it overgrown on thev way up . we will rreissue when we have redone the route, My book whichh goes with the wikiloc track 74 walks around Gaucin explains about thhhe farm
i am not the author of this track by the way
Hello Anneliese, thank you for your comments on my track. As my very good friend and hiking partner Patrick Elvin has said, we have recently sourced an alternative way from the start point up to the pylon, in order to avoid the overgrown section, and it's on our "To Do List' for this autumn! With regard to the goat farm at the top of the climb, I know what you mean about the large dogs, and it is sensible to be wary of loose dogs - however, despite being large these 'Spanish mastin' dogs are there to look after their goats, they are not aggressive in nature and don't usually bother humans unless you threaten their livestock. (If you have any dogs of your own with you it is vital that they are on a lead whilst you pass through the goat farm). We have never had any problems with the goat farm dogs despite going through the goat farm many times, and every time I've passed through the farmyard there has been one or two very friendly men there to chat to and to guide us through the gates. Passing through the goat farm is a well-established route for hikers and many people use it, especially at weekends when you might get large groups. I was there once on a Saturday and literally at least 60-80 Spanish hikers came through the farm! I can't think of an alternative route because of the potentially dangerous cliffs, as well as fences to private land. Take care and enjoy your hiking. Kind regards, Elsie
