Itinerary description
INFORMATION ABOUT THE HIKE: Any time a hike starts in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, it's gonna be a special day. To kick the day off with the history of a UNESCO site isn't bad. The town's visited by 500,000 people each year because........it's brilliant!! We’ll pass La silla de Felipe II and a cute little town Zarzalejo where there’s a train back to Madrid at 16.00. We’ll end up in another super Spanish town, Robleda de Chavela. The walk takes place along the GR-10 a 1,600 km trail that connects Lisbon to Valencia. It adds up to abt 16km. But is very relaxing. The last 10km are relatively flat and no one should have a problem. We always slow down and take frequent breaks to accomodate anyone who may be "feeling the burn". There are buses back at 18:20 and 19:30. We should be on one of them!
