Itinerary description
Tajo de Algarín
Took a few wrong turns due to multiple goat trails and a little scramble section at the top of Tajo de Algarín, but the main route is fairly easy to pick out once you get used to looking for it and keeping an eye out for the trail blazes.
As you approach the first peak, stay left in the rock garden (maintaining a view of the lake down below). A fence will appear, which you will only briefly be near before winding up through the rocks toward the peak.
We didn’t quite make it to the second peak due to time constraints, but if you continued up the trail spur it seems like it would have been pretty easy to navigate. Then just take the same short section back down to rejoin the loop trail.
On the way back we stopped to check out the ruins of the stone dolmen from the copper age that was marked with a sign.
