Itinerary description
This is a lovely walk with extensive views all the time as the dune area between El palmar and Conil de la Frontera is almost flat.
In between El Palmar and Conil there is a 16th century tower, Castilnovo, in which two pairs of ibises nestle according to the information panel you see there.
From the tower you follow the track towards the bridge across the river Salado. We took some time to walk through a part of Conil which has lovely streets and alleys and then took a small detour through the Parque Publico la Atalaya.
After reaching the Calle di Hijuela de Lojo and its two towerlike viewpoints we walked a liitle further through the park in front of Hotel Gran Conil, which has some very lovely paths and then descended towards the beach.
From there we walked back to El Palmar along the beach, only having to leave the beach as it was high tide at the bridge across the river Salado. At low tide you don't have to leave the beach at all.
