Itinerary description
26 01 2018
The first part of this route take you into familiar territory as it is the usual route up to the El Santo effigy above Pizarra, and the start of the route back from the monument is the same until you reach the T-junction on the main track, then instead of turning right it’s take the left and head out into the hills.
This is virtually the highest point of the route and from now on it’s a gentle decline as the route winds its way around the hills. The views all around will be stunning and a clear day should allow you to see to Malaga. The route back uses the Pista Vieja de Malaga 4 which would have been one of the original routes from inland to the coast at Malaga.
It’s then down to the outskirts of the town and back to the start, but still with panoramic views as the route progresses.
Directions:
As you enter the town, at the roundabout with the BP Filling Station on the right turn right onto Calle Estacion leading to Calle Fransisco Rosas. Continue to the top of the road where you will see the entrance to the ‘park’ area and turn right onto Calle Carratera de Vieja and follow the signs to the Campo de Futbol.
The lane is alongside on the right hand side of the sports ground.
