El Sauzal ⭐⭐

We trokken deze keer naar El Sauzal waar we een mooie rondwandeling ondernamen langs de Costa de Acentejo . Wie er al eens was zal waarschijnlijk ook wel betoverd zijn geweest door dit uitzonderlijk mooie gebied, dat gevormd wordt door een grillig landschap met kliffen die zo kenmerkend zijn voor de noordkant van Tenerife. De bijzondere waarde ervan is mede te danken aan de aanwezigheid van beschermde planten- en dierensoorten. Via het Parque Los Lavaderos* waar ook een bezoekje kan aan gebracht worden ging het tot aan de Mirador de Las Breñas waar we een steil pad naar beneden namen tot aan de kust. Beneden aan de Costa El Sauzal is een mooi wandelpad aangelegd waar het zalig vertoeven is. Via een lus keerden we terug om het steile pad opnieuw te trotseren, maar nu naar boven! Wie een beetje fit is zal hier geen moeite mee hebben. Terug aan de mirador gaat het nu rechts omhoog via de buitenwijken van El Sauzal waar we wat verder het oude ezelspad Camino La Ladera ons terugbracht naar het vertrekpunt. Een dikke viersterren-wandeling!

*Dit park is een van de mooiste plekjes van de gemeente. Het ligt dichtbij het dorpscentrum op de rand van een 200m diepe kloof en dankt zijn naam aan het feit dat men hier vroeger de kleren waste bij de bron. Tegenwoordig is het een ontspanningsruimte met tuinen, wandelpaden, watervallen en spectaculaire vergezichten op de oceaan en El Teide.

ES: En esta ocasión fuimos a El Sauzal donde dimos un agradable paseo por la Costa de Acentejo. Quienes ya han estado allí, probablemente se habrán quedado encantados con esta zona de excepcional belleza, que está formada por un paisaje accidentado con acantilados tan característicos de la vertiente norte de Tenerife. Su valor especial se debe en parte a la presencia de especies vegetales y animales protegidas. Por el Parque Los Lavaderos * donde también puedes visitarlo nos dirigimos al Mirador de Las Breñas donde tomamos un camino empinado que baja hasta la costa. Abajo, en la Costa El Sauzal, se ha trazado un hermoso sendero donde es maravilloso alojarse. Regresamos por un bucle para desafiar el camino empinado nuevamente, ¡pero ahora arriba! Aquellos que estén un poco en forma no tendrán ningún problema con esto. De regreso al mirador se sube ahora a la derecha por las afueras de El Sauzal donde un poco más adelante el viejo camino de los burros Camino La Ladera nos devuelve al punto de partida. ¡Un paseo gordo de cuatro estrellas!

* Este parque es uno de los lugares más bellos del municipio. Está cerca del centro del pueblo en el borde de un desfiladero de 200 m de profundidad y debe su nombre al hecho de que la gente solía lavar su ropa aquí en la fuente. Hoy es una zona de relax con jardines, senderos para caminar, cascadas y espectaculares vistas al mar y al Teide.
