Itinerary description
This is an easy route to follow with spectacular 360 views, enjoy on a clear sunny day.
The uphill path is via shady pines, the descent is by road but no disppointment as the views are wonderful and the walking easy.
The summit is home to huge telecom masts but the views can still be enjoyed.
El Silla del Papa refers to a rocky seat used by the first roman settlers as a strategic lookout point, the democrat General Sertorius is said to have gathered his Lusitanian allies here after crossing the strait to invade Andalucia.
There is evidence of a large roman settlement here which was abandoned in the time of Augustus, at the end of the 1st century BC to found the city of Baelo Claudia on the coast.

Lovely trail with some nice views over the ocean. The 1st half is a tough uphill climb, but a good work out.
