Itinerary description

A short, but difficult climb to this 2,530 metre summit. The route is often across rough, trackless ground, picon covered slopes and through Teide broom bushes. From the caldera rim, there is a rocky ascent and the final section is a 'hands-on scramble' to the summit through rocky cliffs. This is a walk for experienced walkers who are comfortable with rough, occasionally pathless walking. The views are magnificent.

The trail is pretty hard. Lots of unstable rocks and gravel. The views were nice but the hiking was not that enjoyable.

I agree, there is not much of a trail to follow at times. This is why I graded it 'difficult'

Thank you for this trail! It was quiet windy and lots of clouds and we didn’t really dressed warm so 4 degrees was a little of an adventure with shorts. Nice scenery and no-one in sight. There is no real path but it’s easy to make one yourself.

Glad you enjoyed the trail. As you say, there is not much of a path but I quite enjoyed finding my way. All the best.
